My goal as a photographer is to "capture the moment," knowing that life never repeats itself in exactly the same way twice. And so I start every day and approach every assignment with a sense of adventure.
I approach photography as a storyteller and a historian, using photographs to tell stories and share my experiences. Some people "blog." Others "tweet," and the more ambitious write books - using cell phones, computers, even pen and ink. But my tool of preference for recording the moments of life I am privileged to witness is the camera.
As a historian, my concern is accuracy, verifying such rings as location, people involved, and the sequence of events. But as a storyteller, I hope my photos evoke not just an intellectual response, but an emotional, even spiritual reaction as well.
